Who will be in the finals?

In the semi-finals of the Champions League Manchester United has a narrow lead on the youthful Arsenal, while the unstoppable Barcelona has hit a snag in their game against Chelsea. Thanks to an early goal from John O'Shea in the 17th minute and the great mixture of talent Manchester United has, Arsenal had only response and that was their goalkeeper Manuel Almunia that only saw one ball get past him. In the other game, Barcelona had to try to make a goal against Chelsea in Camp Nou (Barcelona's home). It would have been easy for Barcelona, if Chelsea hadn't put so many player's to defend. This was a bad game for Barcelona as one of their best defender's Rafael Marquez was taken out of the game in the 50th minute. Marquez will be out for the rest of the season. To me it seems it will be Manchester vs. Barcelona in the finals.

A crisis?

Cruz Azul my favorite team in Mexico had an above average year in 2008. In 2008, they made it to the finals in both seasons, but they lost both finals. This year has started out bad with them not having a chance to qualify for the "liguilla" (playoffs). All they can hope for now is to win the CONCACAF Champions so they can go play in the FIFA World Club Cup.

Mexico present's their savior?

Javier "El Vasco" Aguirre will be presented later today as Mexico's new coach. Everyone believes he can do what he did in the past by helping Mexico qualify for the world cup yet again, after starting out the qualifyings in a rocky way. Mexico is eager to see if El Vasco can save them from the humiliation of not qualifying for the 2010 world cup.

Another English Final's

In the Champions League their are 4 teams left and no surprise their are 3 English teams (Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal) and one Spanish team (Barcelona). It is not very surprising to see this because Barcelona are uncontrollable at the moment and Manchester United want to be the first team to hold the Champions League Cup on two consecutive years. Chelsea had to stop a good team like Liverpool from eliminating them in Stamford Bridge(Chelsea's own stadium). Arsenal had to beat a challenging team,Villareal, with their young team. In the semi-finals it's going to be Arsenal vs. Manchester United and Barcelona vs. Chelsea. So at least one English team will be in the finals and the other will have to try and stop an uncontrollable Barcelona team.

Is Mexico on the right track?

The Mexican National Team just won their first game in the World Cup qualifying. They beat Costa Rica 2-0 in Mexico citythanks to goals coming from Omar Bravo and Pavel Pardo. This game showed that little by little Mexico is fighting to be at the level they are used to being on. This win helped their coach Eriksson stay for at least another game. Mexico has to win Wednesday against Honduras to shown they are still one of the big teams in the CONCACAF. This game will show this because Mexico has trouble winning away games and with all the losses Mexico has had against Honduras, this will show if Mexico is ready for the World Cup or will they miss the 2010 World Cup and show that they're in a crisis.

The strongest league is...

The English league has shown that the Italian league is not on the same level as them. In all English clubs vs. Italian clubs, all the Italian teams were left out the tournament. Chelsea beat Juventus, Manchester United beat Inter de Milan, and Arsenal beat Roma. The biggest game between these leagues was Manchester vs. Inter de Milan because they both are the reigning champions and are both leaders of their leagues. The English league is getting stronger each year because now all the players realize that the Premier is the place to be. Out of the 8 teams in the quarter finals 4 are from England, 2 from Spain, 1 from Germany, and 1 from Portugal. To me it looks like we are going to have another English final.

No need for this

Chelsea's strong English defender was taken to jail over night because he was drunk and disorderly conduct. Even though it was an overnight thing it still shows that the clubs these player's play for should keep them on a shorter leash. Many player's in the Premier League have been seen getting drunk and this should stop because children see their idols being put into the back of their cars unable to walk on their own two feet and children do what they see people they look up to do. The teams are trying to do something by fining them or not including them in games, but they pay them so much that it really doesn't worry them.
